Looking for a depressing classical funeral piece? Hi, I’m looking for a classical piece with a dark, sad or eerie feel to it. Anyone has any suggestions? Thanks!

Chopin composed a few pieces that are similar to funeral marches: Chopin Piano Sonata No 2 in B Flat Minor, Third Movement: March Funebre: youtube.com/watch?v=ido55uT5U0k Chopin Marche Funebre in C Minor Op 72 No 2: youtube.com/watch?v=VJ7KG2oTEvcChopin Prelude in C Minor, Op. 28 No. 20: youtube.com/watch?v=JgpPk4ooo7EBeethoven Sonata Opus 27 No. 2 in C Sharp Minor, “Moonlight” First Movement: youtube.com/watch?v=UHd8jwXBzXE (The slow and daunting triplets in the right hand are an obvious indicator that it is a funeral march. Do not believe the publishers that try to sell it as a romantic couple in the moonlight, as that is just a nickname given by a reviewer of the sonata).

Benjamin Britten’s “War Requiem”youtube.com/watch?v=GHNgfF19CTYI have to throw in one choral work of course (as usual).

Can anyone reccomend me some dark piano music? Recently I’ve fallen in love with piano music, prefferably with a dark, sad or sinister feel to it (prefferably something classical), but I’m having a hard time finding any decent work that really has those dark atmospheres.

Sad grade 8 classical music? I’m looking for a beautiful melancholic sounding classical piano piece. I love Chopin’s Funeral March. I’m grade 8 on the piano, do you have any suggestions? Thank you so much in advance!
I have no idea what grade 8 means, but Rachmaninoff has some excellent, dreary piano works.Same deal with Bartok, except his music sounds a little on the crazy side of melancholy (which is why I love it).

i’m assuming your gr 8 is RCM level, so here are some suggestions:the first one that popped up in my head was Chanson Triste, KalinnikovMilonga de angel, PiazzollaSong, Smetana

How to get longer fingers as a 13 year old girl pianist? I’m a very dedicated pianist..I have pretty big hands currently but would like to make my fingers longer. I’m 13 so I’m still growing. Any suggestions? NO SURGERY! And any tips would be appreciated🙂 thanks very much!
The only way I can think of getting longer fingers is to practice pieces with huge chords such as Rachmaninoff Preludes, A Piano Concerto, and Etudes, or Liszt Etudes, Late Piano works such as La Lugubre Gondola, Nuages Gris etc.. These pieces will stretch out your finger span causing them to get longer.

Stretching your fingers gives them a better spread and reach–it in NO WAY makes your fingers longer. Your fingers are as long as they are going to be for the time being. The only way to make them longer is experimental surgery, which is incredibly detrimental to your health.LC-B

You don’t. Roll big intervals. It takes practice, I wish I had hands as big as Richter’s too, but its just not happening.
