I want to get into David Bowie. Where do I start? I have never listened to David Bowie before. I’ve heard a few songs by him, but I want to look more into his stuff. Which albums should I listen to and which should I avoid? Thanks!

Ziggy StardustHunky DoryI’d avoid “The Man Who Sold the world”, his self titled, and “Let’s Dance”Actually, anything past “Heroes” is pretty shitty.
Albums to listen to: Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, Low, Station to Station, Earthling, Outside, The Man Who Sold the World, Space Oddity, Aladdin Sane. (You can test out his debut, David Bowie. It’s more folk but still good).Albums to avoid: Tonight, Never Let Me Down (Actually anything he’s done is good, these are just the ones people say aren’t good)Favorite songs: Queen B%tch, Ziggy Stardust, Starman, I’m Afraid of Americans, Modern Love, Space Oddity, The Man Who Sold the World, Kooks
It all depends on what type of music you like.if you like acoustic/folksy stuff I’d give “kooks”, “god know’s i’m good”, and the acoustic “space oddity” a try.more 80s rock-type songs are “ziggy stardust”, “Rebel rebel” (featured in many films),or “starman” a try.for pop sounds I really like “DJ”, “Its hard to be a saint in the city”, and “diamond dogs”.other good songs include “magic dance” “undergroud” “time” and “my death”I hope this helps!

I’d like to find some new music to listen to!? Any suggestions that you think i’d like would be greatly appreciated!The bands i like include:-The strokes-the killers-modest mouse-interpol-the velvet underground-MGMT-joy division-rolling stones-pixies-Pearl jam-led zeppelin-nirvana-foo fighters-sublime-bob dylan-arctic monkeys-creedence clearwater revival-devendra banhart-the doors-dr.dog-the kinks-the kooks-New order-pink floyd-radiohead-smiths-sonic youth-talking heads-red hot chili peppersi also listen to tons of random indie bands, so anything goes!
I hear MGMT is a kind of like Empire of the Sun. I like them. They’re kind of weird but good. Also, if you like CCR you’ll probably like Lynyrd Skynyrd too.
In the category of Talking Heads, Rolling Stones, CCR, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Joy Division, and The Doors, I would suggest AC/DC, Audioslave, Adam and The Ants, Sisters of Mercy (Dominion in particular), Nine Inch Nails, Motley Crue, ZZ Top, Starz, Aerosmith and Queen. I know hundreds of other bands, but they’re mainly 70’s hard rock, heavy metal, glam metal and gothic metal which you may not like. I hope you like some of those! Oh, you’ll also probably like the Steve Miller Band, Buffalo Springfield, and Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship. Good luck!
Look up the band “Authors & Audio” They’re an indie band. their influences are very similar to the music you listen to. I think you’d really like them. I”ve seen them live a few times. They’re pretty great. (:
