Actually, it looks like it was Darius Rucker: “The quartet met when they were freshman at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Mark Bryan heard Darius Rucker singing in the showers of the dorm they shared and was impressed by his vocal ability. Bryan and Rucker began playing cover tunes as The Wolf Brothers; eventually Bryan and Rucker hooked up with Felber, a former high school band mate of Bryan’s, and Jim “Soni” Sonefeld as Hootie & The Blowfish. (The unlikely moniker was borrowed from the nicknames of two college friends.)”P.S. There are way better 90’s bands 🙂

Darius Rucker.Like the first person said here. There are WAY better 90s bands.and singers like Martin Page, who once in a while gets praise and accolades but it seems as if the masses forgot who he is; thankfully some of us do(a minority remember):DCheck him out at:martinpage.commyspace.com/martinpage

I want an mp3 of Hootie and the Blowfish singing “Champagne Supernovae” Any suggestions? I love the song Champagne Supernovae by Oasis, and my favorite band of all time is Hootie and the Blowfish and by some great miracle they’ve done a cover of the song. However, I can’t find an mp3 of it anywhere or a solid copy on a CD. Any suggestions for finding the Hootie and the Blowfish version of “Champagne Supernovae”?
Has anyone heard of Hootie and the Blowfish? I love hootie and the blowfish and no one seems to know who they r.but maybe thts cuz im 14 and no one my age listens to tht, but i think they r a good band. has anyone else heard of them?
Maybe some of your friends listen to Country Music.the lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish is Darius Rucker who has several number one hits on the country charts.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darius_Rucker

Who is Hootie from Hootie and the Blowfish? Kind of self-explainitory. Who is Hootie from Hootie and the Blowfish?
Does darius rucker sing hootie and the blowfish songs at his concerts? I’m about to buy darius rucker tickets for the delaware state fair.. I was wondering if anyone knows if he sings any of the hootie and the blowfish songs at his country concerts? anyone seen him live? thanks!!
My boyfriends been to his concert and said he didnt sing any songs that aren’t on his new country album.

I went to a concert a few months ago and he didn’t do any hootie and the blowfish songs. he did Forever Road, Don’t think I don’t think about it, All I want you to leave me is alone, Drinkin & Dialin, It won’t be like this for long, Alright, Learn to live, and History in the making. But no hootie and the blowfish

I know some friends who seen him back in January opening for Brad Paisley and they said he did 3 or 4 Hootie songs.”Let Her Cry” was one of them I know because they said everyone was singing along.

When did Hootie And The Blowfish come back as Country? When did Hootie And The Blowfish come back as Country Music ? I just heard them yesturday.
I’m thinking a better question is why. It’s basically another marketing deal. Getting people from another genre, but close enough to country to make more money. By the way, just their lead singer is country now.

No idea. Their music doesn’t sound country in the least. Nor are they on any country station I’ve ever listened to.

I, myself think it is great. I think Darius Rucker has done a great job with his first single. maybe the money is in country music.but I think it is more about where your heart is. That’s why he crossed over. With the exception of Jessica Simpson crossing over.I think it is great for country music to welcome such other genre corssover acts to come and join the crowd! Good luck Hootie!

Others were right when they said that it’s only the lead singer, Darius Rucker. In my opinion, Rucker’s single is a lot better than most songs by crossover acts such as Jessica Simpson, who should NEVER be played on country radio.

what hootie and the blowfish song has a jazzy begining? i cant remember the name of the song by hootie andthe blowfish it starts off and it is just like trumpets and stuff playing and then he starts singing.
amp settings for let her cry by hootie and the blowfish? I have a Line 6 Spider III 15 watt amp and wondered what settings would work best with hootie and the blowfish?
For “Let Her Cry”, lead guitarist Mark Bryan only used a bit of chorus for the initial leads then used a pedal (probably a TS-9 or similar distortion pedal) to kick in the distortion for the solos in the middle and toward the end of the song. He also capos it at fret 7 or 8 for that song if you look at videos of them performing. For your amp settings, Clean would be for the initial chorus leads, then Crunch for the distortion leads, assuming you’ve got a pedal switch. If not, then a pedal is in your future. You’re better off getting a decent pedal system at some point anyway, especially one that’s programmable.
