Ryan Miller’s Milan Lucic Commercial

Ryan Miller is not happy about Milan Lucic running him over during their last game. Never one to shy away from expressing his opinion, Ryan Miller has opted to get revenge off the ice as well as on the ice, as he has launched a campaign to try and keep Lucic off of the All-Star Roster. Songs used: “If you wanna be happy the rest of your life” performed by The Hit Crew “Ça vaut mieux que d’attraper la scarlatine” – Ray Ventura “Piano Sonata Number 11” – Mozart

Do people realize how big of an upset it was when Canada lost to USA? Hockey is a religion in Canada. They sleep it, eat it, **** it. Hockey is king. They even have kids playing hockey on the back of their 5 dollar bills. Their team is filled with the best players in the world in hockey.and yet they can’t beat that American team? Who do they have? Only Ryan Miller? Cmon’ man! Hockey isn’t even close to being popular in the US.

“Who do they have? Only Ryan Miller?” I’m sure the fellow players on the USA team would be happy to hear that! NOT! Way to have confidence in the rest of the team.

You’ve never watched hockey before, have you? It’s NOT a big upset. It was a preliminary round match. No one has been eliminated, and no one has won any medals. The fact that you can’t comprehend that these teams were fairly evenly matched says it all — every player on both teams plays in the NHL. Have you ever heard of Patrick Kane, just for starters? One of the hottest young players in the NHL. It’s not like a bunch of overmatched amateur scrubs came in and beat a powerhouse. The USA is the #1 seed going into the medal rounds — how did they manage that if they’re so inferior?I like how you’re getting your information from TV as you write this stuff. I just saw the feature on the Canadian $5 bill, too.BTW, tell Ovechkin, Malkin, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Lidstrom, Franzen, and Lundquist how Canada’s team is “filled with the best players in the world.” Canada is not the only world power in hockey, and it hasn’t been for ages. You’re just using last night’s game as an excuse to bash Canada. Grow up, kid.

Most of us were saying before the tournament that four teams had a legitimate shot at gold – Canada, USA, Russia and Sweden. We all expected a very tough game against the US and knew how good they were. Miller is great, but he’s hardly the only good player on the US team. The win was a much bigger surprise to Americans than it was to most Canadians. The USA has a legitimate shot to win it all. Ever since the NHL came to the Olympics, it has been won every year by the team with the hot goalie (98-Hasek; 02-Brodeur; 06-Lunquist; 10-) and the US has the hottest goalie.Perhaps because hockey is a religion in Canada we were more aware of how good the Americans really are.

You’ve been watching too much Hockey Night in Canada. Americans LOVE hockey. But only the weird Americans. It’s not mainstream and those who know that mainstream = mindless gen pop appreciate that it’s off the radar.I’ve had non-hockey fans who know my adoration for the sport i grew up playing on long island texting me about “what an amazing game this is”. even the non-fans who will likely go back into the basketball daze once the olympics are over are really getting into this team.go USA but beating canada last night only got them through the next round, guaranteed. they’re still going to have to face canada again. they’re crazy to take out brodeur. he’s their best change to win. period. luongo has been sub-par for the canucks. how many 5 goal games did he give up already.and miller is a great player. he saved their asses last night b/c he faced 46 shots to brodeur’s 23. but they have great talent on that team. patrick kane. that kid is the real deal. brian rafalski. he’s canada’s public enemy number 1. how many times has he beaten brodeur too. and what about ryan callahan. one of the best defensive forwards in the game. throws the body around with pleasure.. backes, statsny, kessler, orpik, parise, and suter. studs!go warm up some cocoa and get ready to watch the USA win hockey gold for men and women.

not even close? I think hockey is popular in the US. It doesn’t get good TV ratings but that doesn’t mean it’s not popular. It’s big in some states. What high school football is to Texas is what high school hockey is to Minnesota.

“Perhaps because hockey is a religion in Canada we were more aware of how good the Americans really are”Hit the nail on the head.Just because YOU don’t follow hockey, and Americans aren’t into the sport as much as us. Doesn’t mean the Americans don’t have a good team.Losing last night sucked, but nobody I’ve talked to or watched it with thought it was a major upset. Now in 2006 when we TIED Italy, then got shutout by Switzerland, finishing 6th. That was an upset.I think it’s patronizing to American hockey to paint the U.S. team as if they were a bunch of scrubs. Patrick Kane and Zach Parise are as good as any of the players on team Canada. And among the scoring leaders in the NHL.

What are some good jazz songs for newbies? I’ve just decided to start to listen to more jazz. What are some classic songs or anything that is a “must-listen”?
