George Strait – Amarillo By Morning (Album Version)

“Amarillo by Morning” by George Strait on his 1982 “Strait From The Heart” album. This was his sixth single – rising to number four on the charts. It would go on to become one of most recognizable songs (if not THE most recognizable song) by George Strait. I don’t own this song it’s owned by George Strait and MCA Records. The song was written by Terry Stafford and Paul Fraser. Stafford recorded the song on his “Say, Has Anybody Seen My Sweet Gypsy Rose” album, released in 1973. It was covered by Chris LeDoux in 1975, then Terry Bullard, Kelly Schoppa, Asleep at the Wheel, Arroyo, and more recently by Clifton Jansky, John Arthur Martinez, and Brazilian singer Zé Ramalho. My Personal Favorite “Amarillo By Morning”! I don’t own this song it’s owned by George Strait and MCA Records.
